Choosing Rings, Mats or Cushions
Most people play Tibetan bowls on their hands. They can also be placed on decorative rings, mats or cushions to be displayed or used under a bowl so that it can be placed on a flat surface to be played.. Generally you should choose one that is roughly the same diameter or slightly smaller than your bowl.
Our padded brocade rings provide a stable base for a bowl. When choosing a diameter you want the bowl to sit securely on a ring, but not to drop down inside it which could stop the bowl resonating.
Circular mats are also made of brocade with a thin layer of padding. These are available in various sizes and colours often with intesting designs and patterns.
Cushions are much higher and padded in similar brocade designs to mats and ings. These are ideal for displaying bowls, but care needs to be taken if you play on them as the Tibetan bowl is raised further and is less srable.
