Green Man

Green Man Wall Plaques in two designs

About the Green Man

The green man is a foliate head often seen as an architectural motif which can sometimes been seen carved as a decoration on churches. It is a head surrounded by foliage, with leaves spreading over the face. It is a symbol of rebirth and springtime which although it appears to be pagan in origin there is little evidence to suppport this. Green Man carvings first appeared in the 12th Century.
