Clusters and Points
Some sorts of crystal form large single crystals called points. These are often polished to enhance the colour or show the clarity of the crystal. Some have cut and polished bases so that they will stand upright.
Clusters are groups of points. These are in their natural state with the points often rising from the base rock or matrix upon which they will stand.
